The live weight of cows in the experimental group (with a high physiological selection index) was higher than in the control group (with a low physiological selection index) before and after weaning by 5.6% and 6.0%. Thus, animals with a high physiological-selection index of constitution type assessment (experimental group) had higher growth energy than counterparts with a low physiological-selection index of constitution type assessment (control group). Linear diameters were higher in the experimental group of cows compared to the control group. Blood biochemical indicators were also higher in the experimental group of cows compared to the control group.

Keywords: growth, development, linear measurements, biochemical blood parameters, first-born cows, Simmental breed.
