Sunflower current of prodyction and reouirements for growing conditions

Actuality of theme. Due to global warming and selection progress, the area of drought-resistant crops is confidently moving through the territory of Ukraine and is of interest to farmers. Sunflower is an important oil crop that occupies an important place in the food supply of the state. It produces 90% of vegetable fats which are characterized by high nutritional value. In 2021, the sown area in Ukraine increased to 6.4 million hectares and our country has become a world leader in the production and export of sunflower oil, occupying a significant link in world production. It is projected that in the near future demand for these products will only grow, especially in Asia, America and the Middle East. Given the economic situation, this is one of the main directions of agrarian business development and an important factor in stabilizing the state economy. Modern cultivation technologies, stable demand for seeds and high market value allow to obtain a high level of profitability and profitability of production.
Sufficient amount of effective temperatures, precipitation, hybrid composition recommended for implementation and efficient cultivation technologies promote sunflower cultivation not only in the Steppe zone, but also in the Western Forest-Steppe. In particular, in the territory of Lviv region since 2016 the sown area for sunflower has increased by 55%, the largest increase was recorded in 2021. Last year, the Lviv region harvested 107,000 tons of sunflower with a yield of 2.52 tons per hectare.
